"A little over three years ago, my parents purchased my horse Melody for me. Though I thought I could never love her more than the first moment I saw her, I was proved wrong as time progressed and we became a very close pair of horse and rider. I proved to be very lucky- at the time that we bought her I was 13 years old and very lacking in experience. Any ordinary 6 year old thoroughbred might have eaten me alive, but Mel was different. From the very beginning she took great care of me, and taught me more than I could ever have asked or imagined. She continues to save me at 17 years of age in my sticky spots as we event at training level. I receive comments frequently on not only how cute she is, but how loving and honest she is. For her personality, I have no one to thank more than Becky for having instilled in her the kindness and forgiving nature that shines through her everyday.
